Lisa Smith @ Grounded Earth Collective

Lisa J. Smith has been an artist for more than 30 years and holds an associate degree in Fine Arts obtained in 2011 and a degree in Digital Media Design with an emphasis on Virtual Reality in 2018.

Her inspiration comes from many different areas, such as books, movies, nature, and life. The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien is a favorite, along with the King Arthur Legends.

Lisa states, “Creating art that inspires others has always been my passion.” “I love creating other worlds with virtual reality, however, nothing will ever take the place of creating art with paper and pencil.” She added.

She spent several years taking the opportunity to travel through most of the United States and lived in the West for a few years, She and her family now live in her home state of Kentucky.

Lisa creates her artwork in her home studio in Kentucky. Her pieces can be found at Grounded Earth Collective, a local shop located on 14th Street West, Huntington WV, and she exhibits in various art shows in the region. “Traveling was fun, but being home is better.” She concludes.
