STEM Takes Off at the Museum of Radio & Technology: Mars Rover Camp a Success!
Eight curious young minds blasted off into the world of science and engineering during the Museum of Radio & Technology’s one-week Mars Rover Summer Camp, held June 16–20, 2025. This hands-on STEM camp gave students ages 12–16 the chance to dive into system design by building their very own four-wheel-drive Arduino-powered Mars Rover.
Throughout the week, students assembled and explored rover subsystems, including microcontrollers, sensors, and remote-control features. Along the way, they picked up essential skills—like how to solder components and construct LED rockets—all while learning how mechanical and electronic parts come together in a functioning machine.
The week will wrap up with a celebratory pizza party on Friday, recognizing the students' hard work and ingenuity. Each participant will be able to take home a fully operational rover—a reminder of what they accomplished and a launchpad for future innovation.
