Light Up Central City: A Bright Start to the Holiday Season

Last Updated 12/1/2025

Central City welcomed the holiday season in full spirit during Light Up Central City on Small Business Saturday, November 29th. From families exploring the district to neighbors gathering for the lighting ceremony, the day was filled with festive energy and hometown warmth.

Visitors enjoyed a lively afternoon along 14th Street West from 12–5 PM, beginning with a cozy stop inside The Wild Ramp, where guests were treated to free hot cocoa from SPECO and seasonal dishes from the Harvest Kitchen, such as Chili and Cornbread!

The Holiday Scavenger Hunt sent shoppers and families through shops and destinations across the district. This year, we celebrated two full winners who completed the entire hunt from start to finish, an impressive win that brought smiles (and bragging rights) to both.

Inside the Central City Museum, the Huntington Children’s Museum led a hands-on holiday craft where kids created their own paper Christmas trees. Village Antiques & Art also hosted live music, as Stratty filled the vast space with classic Christmas songs performed straight from Gallery 610.

Local shops added their own celebrations to the day. Grounded Earth Collective marked their one-year anniversary, welcoming visitors with sales, unique finds, and the welcoming community atmosphere they’ve become known for. Throughout the district, businesses offered special deals, holiday décor, and friendly faces ready to help shoppers find the perfect gift.

The day concluded at 4:30 PM as the community gathered at the Gazebo for our annual lighting ceremony and group photo. With the countdown complete, the Gazebo Park was illuminated in a dazzling display of brand-new holiday décor, officially lighting up Central City for the season.

This event was made possible by our generous partners: Dutch Miller, OVP Healthcare, RECO, El Botanas Food Truck, West Tenampa Mexican Restaurant, and CJ Hughes Construction. Their continued support helps us bring this cherished event to life each year.

The Holiday Magic Continues All December Long

Light Up Central City may kick off the season, but the celebrations continue with our 2025 Central City Holiday Gift Guide, spotlighting special items, unique finds, and great deals all month long.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate, shop small, and share in the holiday cheer. We can’t wait to keep the season going with you all month long!
