Winter Arts Fest 2024 Recap

Last Updated 3/5/2024

The Winter Arts Festival, hosted by the Old Central City Association and RenewAll Inc., brought vibrancy and creativity to the heart of Huntington on February 29th, 2024. Embracing the uniqueness of Leap Day, this annual event showcased the rich tapestry of local talent past and present, transforming the Central City District into a bustling hub of artistic expression.
Located on 14th Street West, known for its charming antique shops and lively ambiance, the festival was a celebration of community spirit and artistic innovation. One of the highlights of this year's festival was the unveiling of design concepts for the PATH Connection Project, a collaborative effort between the Old Central City Association and the City of Huntington's Planning Department. Soliciting valuable feedback from attendees, this initiative promises to enhance the cityscape while fostering community engagement.
Adding uniqueness to the festival was the Art Upstairs group show pop-up gallery, featuring works from eight diverse artists alongside the beats of a talented DJ (photographed below). Visitors were treated to a dynamic array of artistic styles and perspectives, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of the region.
Moreover, the festival offered a plethora of opportunities for attendees to interact with artists firsthand, with over 15 Meet the Artist activities scattered throughout the event. Additionally, five pop-up galleries nestled within local shops such as Hattie and Nan's, Pam's Marketplace, and Village Antiques provided immersive art experiences for all.
From captivating artworks to engaging community initiatives, the Winter Arts Festival truly encapsulated the spirit of creativity and collaboration. As the event continues to grow in popularity, it remains a beacon of cultural enrichment and inspiration for residents and visitors alike!
