Works by Carter Taylor Seaton Now at Grounded Earth Collective

Last Updated 8/27/2026

Grounded Earth Collective welcomed a new collection of local art this week, created by the notorious artist and author, Carter Taylor Seaton. Owner Kim Boley said the works of art are currently on consignment in her shop and hopes the sculptures find a wonderful new home and Seaton’s stories will live on. While visiting this past week, we spotted two sculptures with stories we had to share!

I Weep For Me

“I Weep For Me”

Sculpture & Words by Carter Taylor Seaton

The title was inspired by a friend’s note to me after the death of her daughter, and it expressed exactly my feelings following the deaths of my dear friend, my only brother, and my oldest son within three years. They are represented by the heads resting on the woman’s shoulder.

My Uncle's Guitar

“My Uncle's Guitar”

Sculpture & Words by Carter Taylor Seaton

From the early days of Elvis Presley, kids have fantasized about becoming a famous musician or singer. Most, however, are a little older than three when they begin to dream; unless their teenage uncle plays the acoustic guitar.

One of my children was enthralled with his guitar. Every time he could get his hands on it, he pretended to play, despite the fact that he could only hold it as though it were a bass. I’m sure my brother feared for the safety of his beloved instrument every time the often sticky fingers went for the strings, but he never stopped him. The love of music stayed with my child, and he became a drummer.

The dreams of children should all be nurtured, for they are the future of our world. Rock stars and rocket boys; football players and Fortune 500 CEOs- all begin with a dream.
