Meet Samantha Taylor @ Winter Arts Fest
Samantha Taylor is a recent graduate from Marshall University’s School of Art and Design and a ceramic artist and oil painter. As an artist, she finds inspiration in the natural world and the beauty that surrounds her.
“One of my greatest sources of inspiration is the incredible energy and vibrancy of crystals. I have found that incorporating their unique qualities into my pottery has been a deeply rewarding and creative journey. Each crystal has its own unique energy and properties, and I am fascinated by the way that these characteristics can be translated into the visual language of art. By experimenting with different glazes, textures, and firing techniques, I am able to create pottery that captures the essence of these incredible natural wonders. I believe that there is something truly magical about the way that crystals interact with light and color, and I am constantly seeking new ways to incorporate this beauty into my work. Whether it's through the incorporation of raw crystals into my pieces or the use of glazes that mimic the colors and textures of these natural formations, I am always seeking to push the boundaries of what is possible and create work that is both visually stunning and deeply meaningful.”
Through her pottery, she hopes to inspire others to connect with the natural world and to find beauty and wonder in the small details of life. “I believe that art has the power to transform us and that by incorporating the unique energy and qualities of crystals into my work, I am able to create something truly special and transformative.”
