Preserving Art, Culture, and History: Glass in Central City
Antique Mall Vendor Feature: Betsy Gerber
Before leaving work yesterday, I noticed Betsy Gerber tidying her booth before closing time. When I was introduced to Gerber, I noticed her large glass collection within her booth. While talking to Gerber, I learned she is a glass collector and is a member and previous president of the West Virginia Glass Association. Gerber worked at Blenko Glass Company for many years in Milton, as she has always had an interest in collecting beautiful glass pieces.
Pictured today are water pitchers from Blenko Glass. Her collection of Blenko along with other West Virginia glass companies is an eye-catcher as soon as you enter the doors of the Antique Mall. These specific water container caught my attention as their colors reflected off of the showcase lighting fixture. Gerber sells these Blenko water containers for $65, what she says is the going sale price today. Her booth also contains rare glass pieces from Blenko, Pilgrim, and Huntington Tumbler.
Come see Gerber's booth today and support your local businesses by purchasing a Blenko water container from her booth during our business hours!
