Efthymia Giannakopoulou, also known as Efi G, is a local artist from Athens, Greece, who now resides in Huntington with her husband Joel, and her two daughters, Jade and Eliana. Efi specializes in embroidery art. She said that since she was a kid, she always liked to draw and paint, but mostly loved to use her pencils to draw animals, flowers, magazines, and book covers. When she first started to embroider, she was about ten years old. “My grandma taught me everything she knew about embroidery,” she said.

Efi said embroidery has always been fascinating to her because, “it’s like you can draw and paint whatever you like,  but instead of using a pencil or a brush, you are using a needle,” she said. She added that she loves designs that mostly have to do with flowers, cats, and women figures. See her work on display and see her creating art in action at Village Antiques!
